Wreck Diving in Brunei

Brunei has yet to be a popular dive destination in the South East Asia region. However, i’m glad i get the chance to explore what’s under and have since been loving it. When one talks about diving in Brunei, many would think of wreck diving. As there’s a rich history of sunken wrecks to be explored.

There are probably only 2-3 dive operators here in Brunei that i know of. Oceanic Quest, Poni Divers and Brunei Sub Aqua Dive Club. So far, i’ve only dived with Oceanic Quest and i’m happy with their service. Oceanic Quest focuses only on diving. The Dive Masters are experienced and the rental gears are all new/well maintained and operational. Poni Divers on the other-hand, has a wider range of watersports services including diving, banana boat ride, jetski, wakeboarding, just to name a few. So for those who love the sun, sand and sea, but yet not into diving, Poni would be a place for you.

Here’s the cost of per dive with Oceanic Quest: B$45/B$40 with and without rental gears respectively. If you are an avid diver, getting a package might be more worthwhile. 10 dives for B$300/B350 with and without rental gears respectively. (Pls note that prices quoted here are as of Jan 2013)

Below are some popular wrecks in Brunei (Wrecks description taken from Oceanic Quest).
